Corporate Social Responsibility and Code of Ethics Policy
Porite Taiwan Co., Ltd. has long been committed to employee care, environmental protection, employee health and safety, and social engagement, fulfilling its corporate social responsibility and pursuing sustainable business operations.
The Company adheres to the codes of conduct of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) and the Responsible Supply Chain Initiative (RSCI), upholding a people-centered approach, and expects all suppliers doing business with the Company to ensure the effective implementation of corporate social responsibility within their own organizations, thereby promoting the well-being of all relevant stakeholders.
The Company commits to promoting the following ?reas of corporate social responsibility??and striving to achieve ?ustainable business operations??
Labor
1. Prohibition of Child Labor
Based on the social responsibility to protect children? physical and mental development, child labor must not be used at any stage of manufacturing.
2. Anti-Forced Labor
Forced labor and related coercive measures against employees are strictly prohibited. These include but are not limited to: corporal punishment, physical or psychological abuse or coercion, intimidation or other forms of verbal violence, withholding of wages, confiscation of identity documents, or any other unlawful forms of forced labor.
3. Working Hours and Compensation
- The Company ensures that employees??working hours and overtime comply with RBA, RSCI, and local legal standards. In consideration of order fluctuations and seasonal variations, appropriate and lawful adjustments to overtime hours may be made; however, employees must always be provided with reasonable rest time and overtime pay.
- The Company commits to maintaining a compensation policy that complies with local legal requirements, pays no less than the local minimum wage, and ensures employees receive all legally mandated benefits.
4. Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining
- The Company commits to respecting every employees??right to freely establish, join, and organize trade unions (in accordance with local laws), and to clearly inform employees that they may freely join the organization of their choice without any adverse consequences or retaliation from the Company.
- Communication channels shall be provided to enable employees to communicate openly with management without fear of retaliation, threats, or harassment, thereby ensuring that all employees have a voice within the organization.
5. Non-Discrimination
In matters relating to hiring, compensation, training opportunities, promotion, termination, and retirement, no unfair treatment shall be applied based on race, ethnicity or social origin, social class, ancestry, religion, physical disability, gender, sexual orientation, family responsibilities, marital status, trade union membership, political opinion, age, or any other discriminatory grounds.
Furthermore, employees or prospective employees must not be compelled to undergo discriminatory medical examinations, except where required by law or conducted to determine fitness for a specific type of work.
Health and Safety
The Company provides employees with a safe and healthy workplace and work environment, complies with local occupational safety and health laws, the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, and applicable international social responsibility standards, so as to prevent occupational accidents and reduce hazardous factors in the work environment.
Environment
The Company complies with ISO 14001 requirements, establishes a systematic environmental management system, manages and reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and provides comprehensive evidence demonstrating continuous improvement in its environmental performance.
The Company also commits to focusing on the integration of environmental management and sustainable operations management.
Code of Ethics
1. Integrity in Business Operations
All obligations must be carried out and fulfilled in an ethical, honest, and upright manner, and all employees must avoid conflicts of interest arising between personal and professional matters.
2. No Improper Benefits
All employees are required to refrain from offering or accepting any form of benefit from business partners, especially when such benefits could compromise objective and impartial business decisions.
Suppliers are also required to ensure that their employees and family members avoid any conduct that violates the principles of business integrity, including bribery, falsification, and similar acts.
3. Information Disclosure
Subject to compliance with company regulations and applicable laws, the Company will proactively and fully disclose any communications with stakeholders.
4. Intellectual Property Rights
The Company commits to complying with all laws and regulations related to intellectual property rights.
5. Fair Trade, Advertising, and Competition
The Company commits to engaging in fair trade and refrains from participating in market competition through unlawful means such as false advertising.
6. Confidentiality Mechanism
Information relating to customers??business, technology, and personal privacy shall be protected and must not be disclosed to any third party without authorization.
Policy on Sourcing from Non-Conflict Regions
?onflict minerals??refer to gold (Au), tantalum (Ta), tungsten (W), cobalt (Co), palladium (Pd), and tin (Sn) produced from mines located in conflict areas in the Democratic Republic of the Congo that are under the control of non-governmental armed groups or illegal military factions.
The extraction of ?onflict minerals??in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and surrounding countries and regions has caused serious human rights and environmental problems.
As a member of the industry supply chain and in fulfillment of our corporate social responsibility, the Company commits to not only complying with the standards set by RBA and RSCI, but also pledging not to use or procure conflict minerals originating from the Democratic Republic of the Congo or similar regions.
Supply Chain Security Management Policy
- The Company complies with supply chain security-related laws and regulations, as well as security requirements specified by customers.
- The Company ensures the security of the product manufacturing process and the safety of delivery to customers.
- Trade secrets and information security-related data shall be protected and must not be disclosed to any third party without authorization.
- The Company works to enhance the security standards of business partners in order to meet supply chain security requirements.
- The Company implements thorough supply chain crisis management and ensures prompt recovery from unexpected incidents.
- The Company implements supply chain risk management and continuously works to improve the supply chain security system.
