From Component Manufacturing to Complete Assembly Solutions: Porite Successfully Develops and Launches High-Precision Micro Gearbox Production Line
As products become increasingly compact and sophisticated, manufacturers are seeking suppliers that can provide more than individual components. Recently, Porite successfully collaborated with a customer on the development and industrialization of a high-precision micro gearbox assembly. The project involved 37 individual components sourced from seven external suppliers, combined with precision gears manufactured by Porite using both Powder Metallurgy (PM) and Metal Injection Molding (MIM) technologies.
Managing Complexity Through Integrated Engineering
Micro gearboxes require tight dimensional control, precise gear meshing performance, and consistent assembly quality. In addition to component manufacturing and procurement management, Porite's engineering and assembly teams worked closely with the customer throughout the entire development process.

Building a Scalable Manufacturing Platform
To support the customer's annual demand of 600,000 micro gearbox assemblies, Porite established a dedicated production line operated by a team of 25 personnel.
The manufacturing system incorporates automated assembly equipment and customized testing stations designed to ensure product consistency and process stability throughout mass production.
The result is a scalable production platform capable of meeting demanding quality requirements while maintaining manufacturing efficiency.
From Development to Approval in Five Months
One of the most notable achievements of the project was the speed of execution. From initial development activities and production line construction to sample submission and customer approval, the entire program was completed within five months.
The successful launch demonstrated Porite's capability not only as a component manufacturer, but also as a manufacturing partner capable of supporting complete electromechanical assembly solutions.
